FOCUS SEES EASTER BONANZA


Major DIY retailer Focus DIY saw record market share on outdoor categories as consumers hit the DIY shed over the Easter Bank Holiday.

A large TV campaign supported by local press and radio drove customers into store to purchase new and updated ranges at great value for money.

Paul Willis, FOCUS Marketing Director: " We are extremely pleased with the start of the season and very upbeat for the coming weeks. Sales on Outdoor Living (garden furniture and BBQs) were phenomenal, almost 400% up on last year. With the predicted warm weekend we saw woodcare sales double whilst building and horticulture products were up 50% on last year."

Consumers also enjoyed the warm weather playing garden games and exercising on trampolines as sales doubled.

Paul Willis added: "The strong Easter has put us in a great position to exploit the market and sales opportunities in the forthcoming weeks."
