ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

WASTE

POLICY AIM

As a major UK retailer of DIY and gardening products, FOCUS recognises the need to conserve natural resources and to protect the environment. Therefore, we have adopted a policy that will minimise the environmental impacts associated with waste management and comply with all relevant legislation as a minimum.

POLICY STATEMENT

Focus will:

1. Comply with all relevant legislation and aim to eliminate or minimise waste at source.

2. Recover and recycle packaging waste where practicable.

3. Donate suitable products to local community groups, schools and charities where practicable.

4. Provide information about recycling to our customers.

5. Ensure that any remaining waste, deemed unsuitable for re-use or recycling, is stored, transported and disposed of in accordance with good management practice.

6. Regularly audit and monitor the waste management performance of stores.

7. Assign responsibility for waste management to all departments within the business and to each individual store.

8. Manage cross-functional waste issues through the FOCUS Waste Working Group.

9. Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities for acting in accordance with this policy.

10. This policy will be reviewed and assessed annually.
